We all have childhood dreams of one day owning a mansion, with all the gadgets and gimmicks the mind can dream of, with acres of land as far as the eye can see. And of course, what mansion is complete without a lengthy, luxuriously shaped swimming pool?
In the words of Futurama’s Professor Hubert Farnsworth – good news, everyone! It could all be yours for a shapely sum of $38.5 million dollars.
French Canadian songstress Celine Dion, cemented into the history books with 1997 smash hit, “My Heart Will Go On”, the soundtrack to James Cameron’s adaptation of the ill-fated journey of the Titanic, is selling her Jupiter Island Bahamas inspired estate for $38.5 million dollars – almost half the original asking price! The estate, spread over 5.5 acres of stunning Florida landscape, was originally priced at $72 million in 2013, until it was recently slashed in price to its current offer, and was built for Dion and her late husband and manager, Rene Angelil, in 2010.
So, what’s included in Celine Dion’s lavish estate?
The mansion itself covers 10,000 square feet, and waking in the morning and opening the curtains, potential buyers are greeted by 415 feet of sun kissed sand and sea. The house features a finished basement, a pair of four-bedroom guest houses, a pool house and a beach house complete with a massage room and a gate house, to ensure absolute privacy, an evident necessity when rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous.
Inside Celine Dion’s domicile are five bedrooms, with a walk-in closet and a fully automated clothing and shoe rack. Owners can expect to dip their toe in any of the three swimming pools which accompany the house. Alternatively, why not enjoy the water park included in the house, including two slides, a bridge over a relaxing river, a tree house, and eight water cannons, perfect for keeping friends wet and wild in the warmer months?
For those who would rather stay dry and enjoy an active lifestyle, the house includes a tennis court which doubles as a basketball court and a tennis pavilion complete with a gym and a golf simulator, the perfect way to wind down after a day of living like royalty.
Currently residing in the bright lights of Las Vegas, Nevada, Celine Dion’s contract with entertainment plaza Caesar’s Palace, has been extended to 2019, meaning her Jupiter Island paradise remains uninhabited.
I wonder if they’ll take it on finance…
